Vikram and Betal- Cultural event

The cultural programme of standard IV and V based on the mythological story “ Vikram and Betaal” was held on Saturday, November 24, 2018. The story began with the legendary king Vikramaditya who wisely answer’s Betaal’s questions and relieves him from a curse. Our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran while addressing the gathering stated that the school was a platform to showcase the talent of each child and bring out the best in t hem. She cited the example of Thomas Alva Edison and David Shrew who gave an opportunity to kindle the creativity in each person. She stressed the importance of developing the non-cognitive areas which builds up leadership qualities, soft skills, innovative thinking and creativity apart from the three Rs to face the challenges of the 21st century. To build a child’s personality emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually, communicative competency is required which can be achieved through dance, drama, and theatre, she added.

Trustee Secretary of Schools, Ms. Aisshwarya DKS said that education is only a passport to the future and it is the school which prepares the child socially and emotionally to face the challenges. She added that apart from holisitic learning, overall development of the child is necessary, and thanked the parents for encouraging their children to actively participate in all the programmes conducted in the school.

The stunning backdrop projections, lighting, exquisite costumes, soul-stirring music, and an enthralling performance held the audience in sheer awe who thoroughly enjoyed the cultural show by our young children.
