SPORTS DAY

The annual sports day of standard III was held on January 19, 2019, with great zeal and excitement.  The events of the day unfolded with the soulful rendition of an Invocation song  followed by a display of well synchronized school band performance playing in unison.  Welcoming the guests and parents, our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran, in her address to the gathering highlighted the importance of sports for physical and mental development of children.   She added that sports is not an extra-curricular activity alone but becomes an integral part of oneself-developing skills required in practical life.  One has to work with an aim. To achieve the goal, planning, effort, consistency, skill to do the best for which the three D’s-determination, dedication and discipline are required.  She further added that as life comes with more failures than success, it is very important to develop the right spirit of sportsmanship, to respect the game and also respect the opponent, enjoy the game and whatever you do, you need to do your best.

Mr. Venkatappa, Additional Trustee Secretary of N EF, said that with support from parents, we can concentrate beyond academics and sports  is important for building leadership qualities among children.

Ms. Aisshwarya DKS, Trustee-Secretary –Schools thanked the parents for their support in all activities of the school. She requested the parents to play an important role in their child’s development and it is the school which provides a platform for such extra-curricular activities. Adding that though technology is important to keep us updated their usage should be limited so that they do not take over us and to make the children more responsible.

The relays, obstacle races was followed by a dazzling display of  aerobics, Zumba and the Bhangara to rhythmic beats in colourful costumes marked the end of a spectacular day of true sportsmanship and enthusiastic participation from our children.
