Our playgroup I children enacted nursery rhymes as they danced hand in hand to foot tapping music and dressed in colourful costumes bringing to life the characters of their rhymes like the fairies and the pirates in front of their appreciative and applauding parents who cheered their little ones’ first performance on the stage.

We celebrated our 69th Republic day to commemorate and honour the day when the Constitution of India came into force( 26th January 1950) as the governing document of India.
The national flag was unfurled by our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran. Addressing the children, our Principal she explained the importance of the Constitution and the rights it guarantees to the citizens of India. She implored the students to value our freedom that was earned from the sacrifice made by many people who laid down their lives freeing our country from years of British rule. On the occasion of the Republic day, a small skit was performed by our children. The programme ended with the rendering of the national anthem.
The annual sports day of standard III was held on January 19, 2019, with great zeal and excitement. The events of the day unfolded with the soulful rendition of an Invocation song followed by a display of well synchronized school band performance playing in unison. Welcoming the guests and parents, our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran, in her address to the gathering highlighted the importance of sports for physical and mental development of children. She added that sports is not an extra-curricular activity alone but becomes an integral part of oneself-developing skills required in practical life. One has to work with an aim. To achieve the goal, planning, effort, consistency, skill to do the best for which the three D’s-determination, dedication and discipline are required. She further added that as life comes with more failures than success, it is very important to develop the right spirit of sportsmanship, to respect the game and also respect the opponent, enjoy the game and whatever you do, you need to do your best.
Mr. Venkatappa, Additional Trustee Secretary of N EF, said that with support from parents, we can concentrate beyond academics and sports is important for building leadership qualities among children.
Ms. Aisshwarya DKS, Trustee-Secretary –Schools thanked the parents for their support in all activities of the school. She requested the parents to play an important role in their child’s development and it is the school which provides a platform for such extra-curricular activities. Adding that though technology is important to keep us updated their usage should be limited so that they do not take over us and to make the children more responsible.
The relays, obstacle races was followed by a dazzling display of aerobics, Zumba and the Bhangara to rhythmic beats in colourful costumes marked the end of a spectacular day of true sportsmanship and enthusiastic participation from our children.

The theme of the cultural programme of standard II “ Season of joy and hope” showcased Christmas festivities to an enthralled audience. Speaking on the occasion, our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran highlighted the importance of imbibing values in our children and the need to be empathetic towards others citing the story of the puppy and a boy. She implored the audience to accept all cultures as we belong to a country that is known for its brotherhood, peace, and understanding.
Various competitions like Christmas tree decoration, cup cake and salad dressing, sandwich making and vegetable carving were also held as part of the celebrations.
The day ended on a high festive spirit as we came together and celebrated to welcome the dawn of another new year.
We congratulate MAYUKH D.B. of STD IVA for winning the finals of the under-10 Singles of the Ramesh Padukone-Mehul Sirur Memorial Badminton Tournament.
He along with ADITYA V SETTY also of Std IV A won the finals of the under-10 Doubles in the same tournament.
These achievements have been possible due to their sheer hard work, self-discipline, persistence, ably supported by the institution. The key to success has been their optimism and ability to be open to challenges.

November 1, 2017, the 62nd Rajyotsava day was celebrated with patriotic fervour. At the special assembly, Our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran lit the lamp and addressed the students highlighting the richness of the Kannada language and the importance of speaking the language. The celebration took our thoughts to our culture and roots creating a sense of belonging to the state we are part of that is also important for an individual’s growth. The group songs in Kannada only and dance performances by our children formed part of the celebrations.
The vigilance awareness week programme was also conducted and the children pledged to be honest and sincere in word and action.
The activity was conducted as part of the development activity where children received practical lessons on the various stages of plant growth starting with sowing the seeds like fenugreek, coriander, watering and observing the gradual growth of the plants.”
Patience, persistence, and perspiration make an unbeatable combination for success. It is also an apt description of Mayukh D.B. of std IVA , who has been on a winning streak and emerging victorious in most of the tournaments he played this year. Ever since he picked the badminton racket, Mayukh has won every other tournament he has participated in so far. This year he emerged the winner in the Selenite Junior Badminton Champs, PNB Metlife Junior Badminton Championship 2017 South Zone Bangalore, Power play Junior Badminton league both singles and doubles, Fairplay Ventures badminton championship , White Shuttlers and Tom’s badminton academy tournaments to name a few.
Mayukh has an amazing ability to stay focused and perform up to expectations while under increasing pressure and under changing conditions. Influenced by a supportive home and school environment, hard work, motivation and dedication, Mayukh has pursued his goals successfully. We congratulate him on his many victories and for being a role model to his fellow students
We celebrated Hindi Diwas with great zeal and enthusiasm. The aim behind the event was to mark and show respect towards our national language, Hindi.
A special assembly was conducted to highlight the significance of the day. Various inter-house competitions like handwriting, poem recitation, picture composition were conducted to commemorate the day.

Teachers mould the lives they influence. Lessons learnt from teachers remain with students throughout their life.
