Onam is the most revered ancient festival of Kerala. It is symbolic of King Mahabali’s annual home-coming. In our school, displaying the festive spirit, our teachers were dressed in the traditional onam attire. The characteristic floral designs known as ‘pookkalam’ symbolic of this festival were laid out in a bright beautiful pattern using varied flowers.

Ganesha Chaturthi was celebrated with festive fervor by our children. Dressed in traditional attire, our young ones were enlightened on the story of Ganesha and the significance of the festival. Our primary children participated in an eco-friendly Ganesha idol making competition, and joyously took their model home.
We celebrated our 71ST Independence Day on August 15, 2017 with zeal and patriotic fervour. Mr. Venkatappa, Additional-Trustee Secretary hoisted the national flag. Both Mr. Venkatappa and our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran spoke about the importance of the freedom struggle walking us down memory lane to how we achieved our freedom. An inter-house skit competition was held recreating our freedom movement from 1498 until 1947 when we achieved independence highlighting the untiring efforts and unparalleled patriotism of our great leaders.
Eminent television personalities including Mr. Ravi Kiran, Ms. Vanishree, and Mrs. Shobha Venkatesh, theatre exponent were the judges for the competition.
The programme ended with rendering of the national anthem.
As part of the Independence day celebration, “ Chitrakathana 2017” a painting competition was held based on the theme of freedom conducted by the renowned theatre group Vijayanagara Bimba. The winners D.R. Gautami, Shresta L Ram and Aditi S Dilip were felicitated at a function organized by the theatre group.
An educational trip to Big Barn Farm located on Bannerghatta Road was held for our children of Playgroup III. The children were excited seeing the various kinds of farm animals and birds like turkey, ducks, etc. They were delighted to feed the cows and the fish. A trolley ride, visit to the tree house, barn art and craft and sowing the seed were the other activities thoroughly enjoyed by the children. The day at the farm proved to be day of learning, a day of relaxation, a day of play, a day with friends, and a day of memories
The colour Blue was introduced to the children with the classroom décor in blue. Both the teachers and the children were dressed in blue attire as part of the celebration.
Fruit salad activity –
Children were educated on the different types of fruits, its qualities like texture, feel, colour, smell and health benefits. A delicious fruit salad was prepared which was relished by the children.

Keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potential in the young minds of our children, an inter-house drawing and painting competition was conducted with the theme “Environment.”
The children showcased their creative skills in drawing and colouring and the result was amazing art work.

We congratulate our children who won the gold, silver, and bronze medals in the International English Olympiad, beside many special prizes. Hard work, discipline, strong focus, and a positive attitude describe our winners. The school is proud of them!!!
We congratulate SUHRIT KANUMURU of std IV B who secured the All India First Rank in the Unified Cyber Olympiad 2016.
Suhrit also won the Silver medal in both the National Science Olympiad and International Math Olympiad, and the gold medal in the National Cyber Olympiad.
A keen observer, an intensive listener, and a conscientious child, his mature attitude and hard work have helped him be an achiever in all fields.

Environment Day was celebrated by our children through a skit titled “Green Messengers.” Our primary teachers presented a group song on Nature in Hindi and Kannada. Our Principal, Mrs. Shobhana Prabhakaran while addressing our children spoke about the significance of world environment day. She motivated the students to be able to take an Eco-conscious decision of being more aware of the environment, give a thought to the three “ R’s, (reduce, re-use, and recycle), and not set aside only one day in a year to discuss environment concerns, but to make it part of their everyday life and make our Mother Earth cleaner, greener and sustainable. The day ended with our students participating in a class-wise environment-theme based rally where they made promises for the future and also planted saplings.
